The Dalhart Country Club hosted the David Peeples tournament for the ninth time over the weekend and it was once again a resounding success.
David Peeples was a man who loved to see people interacting and competing at the golf course on week days and week ends and that most definitely happened on Friday, Saturday and Sunday just a mile outside of the city of Dalhart.
Nearly 150 people came out to participate in the tournament honoring Peeples’ memory. David died of cancer years before. His daughter is also suffering from the disease.
Though David may be gone, his memory is not forgotten. He lives on in the tournament and in the money the tournament raises to try to help cancer research in any way they can. One day the cure for cancer may be discovered just by the help these people are providing.
