When Amy Gonzales organizes a fun run or a mud run, she always does it to benefit someone in need, but she doesn’t always have a particular monetary goal in mind.
But when she organized the Crazy Mudder Benefit this year, she did have one dollar amount in mind for one of the two families her run was helping, and that number was $800.
After 50 or so people signed up and participated in her mud run, each of the families will be receiving more than $1,600 raised at the event.
“A lot of times whenever you do a fun run or something like that and you’re splitting up between two families, sometimes you’re just taking a shot in the dark because you don’t know exactly how much you’re going to be able to raise for them,” Gonzales said. “So this just proved that it was worth (including) the two families.”
