Change---It’s a good thing

The Dalhart Daily Texan printed its first newspaper in 1901; newspaper carriers rolled their papers, slipped them into bags, loaded them into their cars and on their bicycles and all of the newspapers were delivered by noon, every single day. Times changed, the paper changed owners and the Dalhart Daily Texan employed many carriers over the years.
Again, new owners bought the Texan, the Dalhart Daily Texan became the Dalhart Texan and many subscribers received the paper by mail and paper carriers delivered to the “In-town readers.” The old press that printed the papers locally became a thing of the past, and the papers were printed and delivered over night to Dalhart for distribution. Computers became more and more popular while Dalhart’s children grew up and moved away but still wanted to read about their home town. The Dalhart Texan went on-line and subscriptions grew for out-of–town and online readers.
