Posted by: tdt -

If your kids want to learn how to throw a rope by XIT or you need your certification to hunt by Dove Season, two Community Connect classes which begin next week, were designed for you. Registration is available online at or in person at 701 E. 10th St. DISD Central Administration Building in Dalhart.

Let Bill, Kathy and Toree Winchell teach your kids how to swing a lasso and hit something besides you!  This two day dummy roping class will be open to children 5-7 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17 and 24; and for kids 8 to 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. those same days. Students should bring their own ropes; if you have a question about ropes call 244-7818.

Hunter Safety

Don’t let Dove Season catch you without your Hunter Education Certification, mandatory for any hunter born after September 2, 1971. Taught by Emily Berg, this class addresses hunter safety, firearm safety, wildlife management, hunting regulations and more. Class will meet Sunday, July 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday, July 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This class is for students 12 years and older.
