Storm swings through Dalhart on its way east

For the second weekend in a row, Dalhart was rained upon. Only four isolated storms popped up on radar Saturday, and one decided to swing through town on its way east. The result was 0.18” of rain, as recorded at the airport, and yet another beautiful rainbow. This brings our monthly total to 0.24”, according to the National Weather Service in Amarillo.
Similar rain reports were registered at for farmland east and south of town. The rain was heavier north of South Sedan Road, with totals between 0.75” and 1.14”. The Hartley area received a quarter inch or less on Saturday. Wind gusts from the storm reached 60 mph, and the NWS received reports and photos of one to three inch diameter tree branches broken in Dallam County.
