The kindness of children

Dalhart Christian Academy sixth graders held several fundraisers throughout the school year to finance their four day, end of the year trip to Denver. Little did they know when they were selling suckers, lunches and glow sticks, sixth graders and their families in a neighboring state would appreciate the kindness of the group of Dalhart sixth graders.
The Moore County, OK disaster has touched lives and hearts across the country, and the folks of this small panhandle town are no different. Dallam and Hartley County residents watched as television news reporters spoke with a young man at the school that was reduced to a pile of trash, everyone read headlines as the rescue efforts became a recovery mission. Toot’ n Totum lead the efforts by donating $10,000 and using their local stores as collection sites for cash donations for the Moore County crisis. The Gebo’s cashier sprang into action and placed collection boxes at their registers and bright pink posters on their doors to remind customers, friends and neighbors that our Oklahoma friends need help.
