Texas Drought Report
DROUGHT CONDITIONS: Recent rains have resulted in a slight improvement in drought conditions; however, statewide reservoir levels have not yet rebounded. This past week Lake Amistad, a major source of water to the Lower Rio Grande Valley, was at its lowest level since its inundation in the early 1970s.
In a bit of good news, the latest drought outlook predicts improving conditions for the eastern part of the state. Nonetheless, drought is expected to continue in West and South Texas.
