Jotting Judi - Twisted in the Wind
Monday, May 20, 2013 was a normal day for people in Moore, OK. They dressed, ate breakfast, shuffled the children off to school and went to work. But, after 3:00 p.m. they faced a completely different kind of day; all their dreams and plans were twisted in the wind. Many would search for hours to recover something, even one piece, of the life that was. By dark, some families would be forever incomplete. Parents waited impatiently while First Responders searched the rubble that was once a school for their most priceless possession; children. The answer would not be good for many, as they faced the first long night without their child, homeless and certainly cursing the wind.
Those of us watching the horror unfold would gasp and cry to hear of the loss, devastation and death. We would see the mountains of shredded timbers and the unrecognizable chunks of tin; once known as vehicles. We would wring our hands and cry “Why? Why?” And the answer would elude us.
