The last two years Coach Young has stated that this has been the most successful year in the history of Dalhart sports. The trend continued as again Young stated that this is the most successful overall year in Dalhart High School history. Coach Young thanked the great athletes for making this possible along with his appreciation to all the coaches, staff and parents who contributed to the success of the program.
Under Young’s leadership the football team was co-district champions, the volleyball team was the district champ, the girls cross country team was a regional and state qualifier and the boys team was a regional qualifier. Powerlifting had 12 regional and two state qualifiers; the boys basketball team was a bi-district qualifier, the girls track team was second in the district and sent two girls to the state meet in three events and the boys track team was the district champion for the third year in a row and also had one runner qualify for the state track meet where he placed 3rd in the 800. The Lady Wolves softball team brought home a bi-district championship trophy for the first time ever, and the baseball team won a district game for the first time in a long time. The tennis team had a district champion and regional qualifier, and there were many more individual and team awards too numerous to mention.
