Lady Wolves win bi-district in softball

Posted by: tdt -

The slogan on this year’s playoff shirt is “Be the first”; well, the Lady Wolves have accomplished that with a playoff sweep of Seminole this past weekend in Lubbock.  Dalhart defeated Seminole 6-3 in game one Friday night and won 5-2 in the Saturday game.
Kilee Halbert pitched both games for the Lady Wolves and did an outstanding job.  In game one Halbert had 12 strike outs in seven innings pitched.  Dalhart scored six runs on eight hits with home runs by Halbert and Courtney Dovel.  Aly Hales, Joselyn Martinez and Dovel had two hits and Halbert and Whitney Gates both had a hit.
Lauren Montgomery ended the first inning when she caught a fly ball for the third out.  Halbert struck out the last twelve batters in the second inning and gave the Lady Wolves the lead 1-0 with a home run.
