In two weeks the cemetery crew will begin a systematic and thorough cleaning of Memorial Park Cemetery. If anyone has lights, flowers, vases, statues or any other decorations not permanently attached to a monument, they must be picked up before May 6, 2013
Before Memorial Park Cemetery begins its annual “Pre Memorial Cleanup,” a review of the basic cemetery rules should be reviewed. The information below is only a brief overview of the cemetery rules and regulations; a full copy is available at City Hall.
While there is no desire to interfere with the preference of individuals in regard to the style of their monuments, in fairness to the interest of the City, the management reserves the right to prevent the placing of or removal of any structure or object which they shall deem injurious to the general good appearance of the grounds and particularly to the adjoining lots. The City reserves the right to remove from any lot anything that conflicts with the rules and regulations and to remove, at its discretion, any unsightly decorations. In no case will the Memorial Park Cemetery be responsible for articles which may be placed on lots. No boxes, baskets, shells or other objects will be permitted upon any lot or grave space, and if so will be removed at once. Owner may claim the object by calling the office of the Superintendent within a thirty day period.
