Council prepares for election

The Dalhart City Council passed a number of agenda items in preparation for the city election that will be held on May 11. Selene Schumacher will be the election judge, and she will appoint an alternate judge and clerk and, if needed, a second clerk. Ms. Schumacher will also serve on the early voting ballot board. The council appointed Frances Childers as early voting clerk. Rhonda Reyna and Sarah Engelbrecht were appointed deputy early voting clerks.
The pay rate for the election judge and election clerks was set at $10.00 per hour, plus an additional feasibility study to expand the Catholic School to include seventh and eighth grade. “This is an impressionable age, and the addition of a Junior High School would defiantly benefit the school, the students and the parents.
