St. Anthony’s dreams are coming in to view

Posted by: tdt -

“We are sorry the Presbyterian Church closed its doors after 114 years of wonderful service to the (Dalhart) community,” began Monsignor Michael of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. St. Anthony’s purchased and closed on the property across from the recently renovated Catholic Church on Thursday, March 21.
St. Anthony’s is currently serving over 410 families in their parish. “We are forward thinking,” stated Monsignor Michael. The purchase is a win-win situation, The Knights of Columbus will have a home in the parish hall, and kindergarten through fifth grade will have a dedicated space for their catechism on Wednesday night.
The recently purchased property will have a minimal amount of renovations performed to enlarge some of the classrooms. The sanctuary will be transformed into a multi- purpose room which will be available to the public. Monsignor Michael has a vision of holding Christian concerts and dances, a coffee house and a place where area youth can “hang-out” in a safe Christian environment.
