Brandi Miller moved to Dalhart in October 2001 and began working for the Dallam Hartley Counties Hospital District as an activity aide at the nursing home.  She graduated from WTAMU in Canyon in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and has been the administrator at Coon Memorial Home for the past three years.
She is married to Steven Miller, who works for XIT Feeders, and has three children.  Lane is a senior, Hannah is a sophomore and McKamie is in the sixth grade.  All three of her children have attended Dalhart Independent Schools for the past 12 years.
If elected to the school board, her goal is to get parents involved and to assure them that their voices will be heard and considered.   The Board makes decisions for our children every time they meet, and parents need to be involved and knowledgeable about those decisions.

Mark McKay is proud to announce his candidacy for a position on the Dalhart ISD board of trustees.  When asked his reasons for running, McKay stated, “Multiple members of my family have been or currently are educators.   I am also a founding member of the Dalhart Christian Academy school and board member of nine years.  These things, coupled with my involvement in business and finance all of my adult life, make me uniquely qualified to serve our community on the school board.  Because of my belief that children are our community’s greatest assets, I have been involved with the kids of our community for years through coaching, church activities and interaction with my own children.  I care deeply for them and want them all to have the educational opportunities I’ve been privileged to enjoy.”

Mark grew up on the family farm near Pampa and attended school in White Deer.  He then went to Texas Tech University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics in 1991 and graduated Cum Laude.  In June 2012 Mark earned a degree from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.   In 1999, Mark earned his Texas general appraisal certification, which he still maintains.
