Council voices concerns about alley closing

After spending several thousands of dollars to alleviate drainage problems on north Jefferson Street, the Dalhart City Council is moving more cautiously to make sure that such a situation does not happen again. H & H Farms is requesting closure of an alley in Block 164 of the Blair Division of the city. The farming concern desires to place a seed warehouse and shop at this location, positioning it so that it faces Ponderosa Lane, which would require closure of the alley.
John Hartwell, an owner of H & H Farms, spoke to the council members about what his company intends to do with the approximately 30 acres of land owned by the company. These plans do include selling some of the lots for future development.
