A gathering for friends, family and food

The beautiful weather on Saturday, March 2 was a perfect setting for the 107th Annual Fireman’s Chili and Stew Supper. 1200 pounds of chili meat, 200 pounds of beans, 450 pounds of stew meat and 200 pounds of potatoes was the beginning of “The best it’s ever been,” supper stated, Fire Chief Curtis Brown.
A total of 1154 area residents lined up to dine on chili, stew, beans, chilled sliced cheese from Hilmar and decedent desserts prepared by local firefighters and their spouses. The Coliseum quickly filled when the doors opened at 5:00 p.m.  Diners were able to enjoy their meal at the Coliseum, but approximately 475 diners proceeded through the to-go line and took their fireman’s feast home.  The food was excellent, and the fellowship was just as good.
