The annual Dallam and Hartley Bi-County Junior Livestock Show and Sale was phenomenal, this year. Opening day was Thursday, January 17 and the Rita Blanca Coliseum was buzzing with excitement. Area youth made their final preparations by bathing, drying, clipping, trimming and preparing for their turn in front of the judge. There were many exhibitors that were veterans and the new comers followed their lead and joined in the fun. Several hundred people attended the three day event to witness two hundred forty three FFA and 4-H members from the Bi-County area show off their prize winning animals. The area youth worked for months to prepare their livestock for this show. A record number of lambs, goats, steers, heifers, swine and rabbits made their appearance in front of this year’s very knowledgeable and informative judges for a chance to be Grand Champion.
