Who will be the 2012 Citizen of the Year?”

The Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce has announced their campaign to select the Citizen of the Year for 2012. 1950 was the first year the Chamber of Commerce honored a local citizen by selecting them as the Citizen of the Year. The general public, as always, is invited to submit nominations for this award. A nominee may be from an organization or someone from the community at large. Nominations must be in written form, stating the reason(s), accomplishments, and merits of the nominee.
In addition to the Citizen of the Year award, the Dalhart Chamber of Commerce will present two additional awards for this year’s banquet, Agriculture Family/Person of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.  The annual agriculture award is to recognize those in the Agriculture Industry for their accomplishments, stewardship and the things they do to make a difference, in our agricultural based community. The award for Volunteer of the Year is to recognize someone in the community for their contributions to enhancing the quality of life and well-being of our community and the people who live in the Dalhart area.
