Critical Care Paramedics

Dalhart now has the only emergency ground transport team in the Panhandle who are all licensed Critical Care Paramedics stated a press release from the Dallam Hartley Counties Hospital District.
The Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) is a medical professional with a broad expanse of knowledge in emergency and critical care medicine including physiology, pathophysiology, and treatment modalities. The four man CCP team includes Josh Albers, Greg Ward, Larry Smith and Scot Leatherwood
The CCP team provides patient care in the pre-hospital, inter-hospital, and hospital environment at a level of care above the traditional paramedic level as defined by the DOT, which includes the following; Advanced airway management with pharmacological agents, Mechanical ventilator management, Invasive Hemodynamic monitoring, Initiation and/or titration of multiple intravenous infusions, Balloon pump or ventricular assist device management, Initiating blood products, Invasive procedures skills (e.g., chest tube and central line placement), and Evaluation of laboratory and radiologic studies.
