The Dalhart Independent School District (DISD) held their regular meeting on Saturday, January 12 at 8:00 a.m. The regular meeting was business as usual.
Stephen Young, Head Football Coach and Athletic Director, captured everyone’s attention with a play by play report on his department. “I hold every coach accountable,” stated Young. The football team will have fewer returning players for the 2013-14 school year, “But that’s not an excuse I’m going to use.” Young stated, “I want to be a team of the decade and make the playoffs for ten straight years.” Young also expressed his desire for Dalhart High School to be in the top 20 for the Lone Star Cup. Young concluded in presentation by taking a few shots at David Foote, DISD Superintendent, “When the new coaches come in, I help them unload. When they leave, I don’t help them, and I’m not helping you.” Young’s report included several other comments to Foote that mimicked a celebraty roast of the retiring superintendent.
