Jotting Judi - Divine Interventions
Our plans were to leave Euless Sunday morning, December 30 to begin our journey to Pennsylvania. By late afternoon reality struck, plans changed and we only made it as far as The Colony in north Dallas. The “inn,” our daughter’s house, gave us shelter for the night and, comfort for mind and body. Munching Christmas cookies and enjoying her well decorated home was just the burst of Christmas spirit I needed. It was obvious to me that this unscheduled stop had been orchestrated by God. Much like a couple on the road to Bethlehem, we were in no condition to travel. We couldn’t possibly know how many times during the next week we would experience God’s intervention.
Monday, New Year’s Eve Day, 2012: No! Not rain! I hate to travel in the rain, and this was cold rain. We didn’t see the sun for the next several days. We hadn’t traveled far when the conversation turned to the new tires on the truck. We almost didn’t buy them thinking we would wait until PA to get them. A TV commercial that offered a great deal on tires caused hubby to change his mind. He got the new tires. Rain slick highways, and the truck pulling a dolly loaded with a car, would have been perfect elements for a hydroplaning disaster.
