The 2012 election results kept local judges busy upon returning from the New Year holiday. Dallam and Hartley Counties had swearing-in ceremonies for their elected officials on Wednesday, January 2.
Robert Elliott, local attorney, was sworn in at 11:00 a.m. by Judge Ronnie Gordon as the Hartley County Attorney. Elliott is married to Margaret and they have two daughters, Olivia, 16 and Robin, 14. Elliott, a Dalhart native, has lived in the area with his family since 1995.
Shane Stevenson was sworn in as Dallam County Constable. Stevenson is replacing E. H. Little who announced his retirement earlier this year. Stevenson has also been employed by the Dallam County Sheriff’s Office for three years. His law enforcement background includes employment with the Dalhart Police Department, the Department of Public Safety and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
