Castro named to state

Local football hero, Oscotty Castro was honored by being selected to the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors (TAPSE) Class 3A all-state football team.
Castro, a four year starter for the Dalhart Golden Wolves played both offense and defense and to add to his sports resume also was the placekicker for the Wolves 2012 football season. In a conversation early in the season, DHS Coach, Stephen Young stated that Castro was one of the few freshman that had ever played on the varsity team. Castro was named to the TAPSE’s second team in the position of a defensive lineman and was the only Texas Panhandle high school player recognized by the TAPSE.
