While visions of toys danced in their heads

Santa’s Elves were plenty busy on Sunday, December 16, serving 3500 cookies and 50 gallons of hot chocolate as they prepared for the 6th Annual Mary Bell’s Christmas toy give away. Kurtis Thomas, board member, along with the entire volunteer staff set the scene for an on site North Pole distribution center.
Children and adults formed a line that reached through the length of the parking lot and into the adjacent field of Rita Blanca Coliseum. Hilmar Cheese sliced blocks of fresh, chilled cheese, and Santa’s helpers served the creamy commodity to everyone in the building and those waiting to enter for their turn to select the perfect toy on the their wish list. Monsignor Michael from St. Anthony’s offered a prayer, and David Vincent and his family, better known as “The Vincent Family Rockers,” entertained the crowd and set the mood for the Christmas season.
