Council reviews changes to bed tax ordinance

City Attorney Greg Oelke presented some possible changes to the city’s Hotel Occupancy Tax Ordinance. The changes presented would establish an advisory board made up of the city manager, the mayor, a councilman and two members of the public. The council approved of the city attorney’s changes, paving the way for the drafting of a new ordinance
Council members passed Resolution 2012-08, which authorizes certain named individuals to write checks. They also passed Resolution 2012-09. This resolution suspends the effective date of a rate increase sought by Southwestern Public Service Company for 90 days.
In reports from personnel, City Manager James Stroud announced the city received the permit for the city landfill.
