Jotting Judi - HOPE

Posted by: tdt -

As Isaiah stepped out of the Old Testament and into my classroom a hush fell over the normally rowdy group of youngsters. In a firm, determined voice, he spoke to the children “For unto a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulders, and He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace…”  Isaiah expressed to the children that he was holding on strongly to HOPE; believing the Messiah would one day come.
The next Sunday we were paid a visit by Mary and Joseph from Nazareth and an angel that seemed to appear from nowhere.  The children were reverent as the Bible characters acted out for them the visit from the angel. Mary and Joseph, filled with hope, responded to the angel and, in obedience to God, accepted the responsibility of raising God’s Son.  They expressed to each other that this tiny baby was the “Hope of the ages.”
