Preliminary autopsy report received in fatal accident

Area emergency response personnel handled the fatal semi accident on Wednesday, October 10, on Highway 87. A Stock Building Supplies Amarillo, TX semi rear ended a grain truck owned by Trifecta Farms, a Dalhart based company. The Stock Building Supplies truck was driven by Ralph Scott.
Emergency response personnel stated Scott never applied the breaks on the semi he was driving, also a driver of a milk tanker told emergency personnel on site he didn’t understand why the Stock semi didn’t change lanes because there were no vehicles preventing the evasive action. This initiated a request for an autopsy by Hartley County Justice of the Peace, Edwinna Womble.  The preliminary results were recently received and the preliminary cause of death was thought to be blunt force trauma to the head. “It can take up to three months to receive the final report,” stated Judge Womble. “We just won’t know exactly what happened until we have all the results and findings from the autopsy,” Judge Womble added.
