Local energy provider meets high usage demands

Xcel Energy has poured over $90 million in new and upgraded transmission lines. The progressive company has provided these upgrades and additions in the northwest panhandle to be able to better serve the expanding community and the demands that have been placed on the preexisting service. Xcel Energy spent $93.3 million completing high-voltage transmission line projects that have boosted the reliability and the capacity in the northwestern counties of the Texas Panhandle, where local communities and industries had outgrown the existing transmission infrastructure. This impart due to Hilmar Cheese and the upgrades to Cargill and various other dairy and feed lot operations.
