David Foote, Dalhart Independent School District (DISD) Superintendent tendered his resignation effective June 30, 2013 on Tuesday, October 16 at the regular monthly board meeting. “Dalhart is a wonderful place,” Foote stated.
Foote reminisced over his years of service in the Texas education system; he began his career in the classroom teaching third, fourth and fifth grade, promoted to an elementary school principal for three years and a high school principal for one year. Foote will have served as superintendent of DISD for 11 years totaling 29 years in this administrative capacity in various school districts. “I worked in several districts and DISD is the best,” Foote continued, “Great people, great community and a lot of fond memories.”
Mr. and Mrs. Foote plan to retire closer to his home in the Seminole
area. The Foote’s are grandparents to six beautiful children and wish to relocate closer to them to enable them to spend more time with their children, grandchildren and Mr. Foote’s father. No firm plans have been defined, however the Lubbock area would be centrally located to the Foote’s their family.
