Turnover proves costly for Wolves

Posted by: tdt -

Turnovers can change the complexity of a football game in a hurry. This proved to be the result Friday night as the Golden Wolves lost their second game in a row, in a defensive struggle with the Littlefield Wildcats.  Both teams traded punches in the first quarter but the game was a no score until the last six minutes in the first quarter. Tone Gonzales stepped in front of a Littlefield receiver at the 41 and was led by a group of blockers into the end zone to put the Wolves on top 7-0  after the extra point kick by Oscotty Castro.
The Wolves had good field position in the second quarter thanks to some great defensive effort and were able to start a drive at their 46 yard line.  Guillermo Davila had a 15 yard carry to the 41 followed by a good run from Terrell Burks to the seven yard line.  The Littlefield defense stiffened, and Castro was forced to kick a 29 yard field goal to put the Wolves ahead 10-0 with 5:19 left in the half.
