Shallowater Runs Over Dalhart

Posted by: tdt -

It only took Shallowater five plays and one minute and 38 seconds to take a 7-0 lead over the Wolves, and that was the way things went for the Wolves all night as the Mustangs moved the ball at will against the Wolves.  The first drive was aided by a personal foul against the Wolves, but the Mustangs racked up 401 yards on the ground against the Wolves and handed Dalhart their first loss 14-44 as the Mustangs celebrated their homecoming Friday night.
Jarek Black, who came into the game with over 1000 yards rushing, continued his great season with another 221 yards aided by touchdown runs of 15, 30, and 47 yards.  Black had great help in the backfield as Kade Willis had 102 yards rushing on just seven carries to go with Black.
The difference in the game appeared to be the dominance of the Shallowater offensive and defensive lines as the Golden Wolves were playing without several key starters and the Wolves were not able to get any substitutions into the game to help rest the starters.
AJ Mendoza was one of the bright stars in the game as he did a great job of punting for the Wolves.  AJ’s first punt was for 53 yards followed by punts of 37, 49 and 48 yards in the first half.
