The 4th annual Community Choice Awards are heating up with several of the races too close to call. Ballots are piling in the Texan by the armloads and voters will have the Friday, September 28, 2012 edition to obtain the final printing of the official ballot. There are a few papers remaining from the September 14 and the September 21 editions available, but those have almost sold out as well.
The race is hot in several divisions; waiter/waitress, hair stylist, real estate agent and nurse are among the close categories in the people division. All of the restaurants are too close to speculate, and the business division has Auto Body Shop, Hair Salon and Banks neck and neck.
The annual Community Choice Awards have gained popularity this year due to the friendly competition last year and the desire to hang the winning certificate on the wall as proof of being voted the best of the best. The completed ballots are due to the Texan by Friday, October 5, at 5:00 p.m. Voters can submit multiple entries to increase their candidates’ chances of winning the renowned award and also their personal chance of winning a subscription to the Dalhart Texan. Remember, we only accept the original printed ballot from the newspaper. Don’t forget to grab a copy of the Texan this Friday and make your vote count.
