So, where do you want the homeless rack?

The Dalhart Texan is placing the coin operated newspaper rack located at the United States Post Office on 7th Street up for adoption. In an email dated Monday, September 17, 2012, Post Master Traci Yanke stated, “Susan, I have been contacted by the Law Department that all free standing machines had to be removed from the premises effective immediately due to accidents that have happened on postal property.”
The Texan would like to offer their apology for any inconvenience this might cause individuals who normally purchased their paper while at the post office, but everyone knows you just can’t fight city hall or the government for that matter. Please let the Texan staff know if you have a suggestion for a new home for the box that has been located at the Dalhart Post Office for over 25 years, or if you would like to adopt the box at your place of business. The box would need to be located on the west side of town.
