Lady Wolves battle Hereford

Posted by: tdt -

It was a great night of volleyball Tuesday at the high school gym with some very exciting and well played games.  Unfortunately, the Lady Wolves lost all three matches to Hereford.  The games started with the freshmen who are one of the best teams Dalhart has had in a long time.  The freshmen team under the leadership of Toree Winchell does a great job of keeping the ball in play and never seems to let the ball hit the ground.
Game one took a long time to play, and it looked like Dalhart would win over former Dalhart High Student Carly Morrison who now is coaching in Hereford.  The Lady Wolves had an impressive 23-13 lead and almost let it slip away winning game one 25-21.  Game two was back and forth with the freshmen girls having some great opportunities to win, but Hereford battled back and took game two 28-30.  Hereford won the final game 17-24 to claim the match.
The JV girls started out totally disoriented against Hereford and trailed 0-4.  Dalhart took a time out trailing 2-7.  The Lady Wolves could never get untracked and lost game one 13-25.  The JV played with great strength in game two and won 27-25.  Game three belonged to Hereford as they won 19-25 to claim the match.
