Nursing home residents foster bears

Dallam County Sheriff, Bruce Scott was at Coon Memorial Nursing Home (CMN) to accept several bears for the “Teddy Bear Cops” Program. Residents of the CMN fostered the bears for two months pouring love and security into the small fury bears in hopes that one day the love the bear received will be transferred to a child in need of security in a time of need or tragedy.
In the early nineties the program was founded to comfort children who were witness to terrifying realities, accidents, fires and family tragedies. The idea behind having a teddy bear to comfort a child in one of these situations is the child may be spared from going into deep shock.
