DPD makes arrest in murder case

Dallam Hartley County 911 dispatchers received a call on Friday, June 22, at 12:00 p.m. Captain Robert Stout, Officer Logan Fry and Sgt. David Conner of the Dalhart Police Department along with Dalhart EMS responded to 808 W. 7th; Apt. #13 in regards to an unconscious, unresponsive male subject.  Sgt. David R. Conner arrived on scene and initiated an investigation.  
During the investigation it was learned that the male subject, Cody Freeman, a 30 year old white male had been struck in the head by his live-in girlfriend, Lenora Pruitt, a 30 year old, white female.  The assault took place several days earlier on approximately June 15, 2012.  Statements were obtained and evidence was collected; however, at that time it was unknown if the injuries to Freeman’s head were the cause of his death.
