Meet Your Neighbor

Julie Calvert was born in Inglewood, CA and moved to Texas in 1970. She married her high school sweetheart and began their journey in the Air Force. Julie joined the Air National Guard and ended her career in the Air Force Reserve after six years.

She lived on the airbase in Spangdahlem, Germany from 1983-91.  Highlights of living in Germany included seeing the Berlin Wall come down, seeing the Neuswinestein Castle used by Disney, and traveling to several countries and learning about different cultures.

Julie has three grown daughters and eight grandchildren living in the Ft. Worth Metroplex.

Julie’s husband, Rick, was called to preach at age 45. When he told Julie he would not be renewing his government contract, but answering this call, Julie said, “You’re going to walk away from your job and everything and rely on faith? If your grandmother were alive today she would tell me, ‘I told you so; one day he will be a preacher.’”   It is obvious to all who know Julie the call is theirs—to share!

Julie moved to Dalhart in June, 2008 and serves as the pastor’s wife at the Dalhart Church of the Nazarene. As an Account Executive for First Data Service she sells payment processing solutions, working from home.  She also teaches a weekly Bible story to children at the Dalhart Area Child Care Center.

She loves spending time with her family and friends; helping and serving people.  She loves to cross stitch and enjoys collecting angels and snowmen. Her favorite food is steak and seafood. Her dream vacation would be to go to Israel and walk where Jesus walked.

Julie, welcome to Dalhart.
