Laureate Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority met at the home of Anita Ralston, Tuesday May 5th, at 7:00 p.m. with Mary Reynolds as co-hostess. President Anita Ralston called the meeting to order leading members in repeating the opening ritual. The high-light for the evening was to celebrate with Mary McCarty and Dorothy Chaloupka the Golden Circle Ritual for their membership in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 50 years.
McCarty and Chaloupka stood before the Candlelit Ritual Table, while the Officients, 60 year plus members. Mary Reynolds and Ruby Smith read the Ritual to them. They were presented with a yellow rose, gold necklace, and a Golden Circle Pin. Anita Ralston Installed the new 2009-2010 Officers. They are as follows: Pat Forry, President, Toni Coke, Vice President, Pearl Ingram, Recording Secretary, Betty Day as Corresponding Secretary, Sharon Taylor as Extension Officer, Kathryn Sadau, remained as Treasurer. A surprise telephone call came from Clara Murphy who is now residing in Dallas. She is a long time member of Beta Sigma Phi, and especially called to congratulate Chaloupka and McCarty. The guest were served cake made especially to honor McCarty and Chaloupka, with their names on it plus 50 years and the Beta Sigma Phi Emblem and punch was served along with the cake.
