Dalhart City public works employees competed in a rodeo last Thursday, but it wasn’t the typical event you imagine a rodeo would be. There were no clowns, horses or bucking broncos. It was the second year Dennis Rojas, Public Works Director at the city held a Truck Rodeo.

Board members of the Texas Plains Trail Region were in Dalhart on Thursday, October 16. This is the first time the Board has met in Dalhart and this was the first meeting for the new President, Paula Sue Hatfield of Snyder.

Delores Maldonado, an Amarillo native photographer and mixed media artist, began her Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead series with an interest in creating a photographic image in the iconic sugar skull style associated with this holiday.

At the 33rd Annual Oktoberfest celebration hosted by volunteers within the St. Anthony Catholic community, there may not have been any lederhosen on display or dirndls gracing the Rita Blanca Coliseum, but there was plenty of German style sausage and sauerkraut on hand.
